Even though the human resources software industry is hot in the United States, the market in Europe is every bit as steamy. This segment is one in which more and more enterprise software companies are becoming involved. And those that have been manufacturing human resources software for years are finding a large increase in sales.
There are three main players who stand out above the crowd in this field. Sage, Oracle, and Unit 4 Agresso all experienced double digit growth during the 2006 fiscal year. To go along with these companies, many others also rode the coattails of the industry’s success. They include: Cegid, SAP, and Northgate among others.
The software solutions that are receiving the most attention are those based around payroll management, e-recruitment, and capital management.
Program Manager Bo Lykkegaard of IDC European Enterprise Applications said, “These segments are dominated by best-of-breed vendors that are leveraging deep domain expertise as well as new delivery formats, such as on-demand, to win new customers.”
More and more companies are realizing that updated HR software solutions can help them to better manage current employees, while also recruiting new ones. For this reason, expect to see more growth in the human resources software industry as 2007 winds down.
