Oracle vs. SAP

When it comes to the enterprise software industry, Oracle and SAP are competing head to head to become the top dog. Making this battle even more interesting is the fact that Oracle is based in the United States, and SAP is located in Germany. But despite location, both of these companies have plans for how they are going to outdo the other.

It is hard to say which company has the lead at this time. One thing is for sure: neither Oracle nor SAP is sitting on their laurels. SAP recently announced that they are going to purchase Business Objects, a company that produces tracking and analysis software.

Of course, Oracle is on the move as well. They recently made a bid to purchase BEA for $6.7 billion. Although this deal has yet to be confirmed as a go, it appears that Oracle will acquire the company in the near future; even if they have to increase their bid to make this happen.

All in all, both Oracle and SAP need to find new ways to grow their business. With each one making strides in the right direction, even the experts have no idea what is going to happen next.
