Although it is difficult to say what will happen within the enterprise software industry in 2008, there are some trends that are sure to play out. If you are interested in any facet of this industry, you will want to know what to expect. This holds true no matter if you are going to be purchasing enterprise software, or investing in companies that manufacture these applications.
Here are three common trends that are sure to appear in 2008.
1. More big companies are going to purchase smaller competitors. This happened time after time in 2007, and the trend will continue as this year goes by.
2. Competition is going to be as fierce as ever. While this always holds true to a certain extent, there are plenty of reasons to think that this year will be the most competitive to date.
3. Smaller companies will thrive. These are the firms that always seem to make a big splash because they know that they have to be different and innovative in order to compete.
The enterprise software industry will go through many changes and advances in 2008. Keep an eye out for the trends above, as well as many others that are sure to come into play.
