As you may know, Blackboard is one of the leading manufacturers of enterprise software within the education industry. Even though they have a hold on the industry, Blackboard has decided to take things to the next level.

The company has announced that schools in more than 20 countries are sharing information through their new social bookmarking service, Scholar.

The main benefit of Scholar is the way that Blackboard customized the service for the education industry. Additionally, the service is integrated into Blackboard’s widely popular Blackboard Learning System.

Generally speaking, Scholar gives students and educators the ability to share resources and information with others regardless of location. This is all done through the ability to store online bookmarks.

Since launching in February of 2007, Scholar has become popular from one side of the world to the next. As this service expands, it is safe to say that Blackboard will be looking for new and innovative ways to bring the education industry even closer together.

For many years, Blackboard has been a leading company in the field of enterprise software. Blackboard is used by millions of educators everyday, and with the addition of Scholar to their lineup, the company is becoming even more popular.
